Branch Gymnastics Level 5 & 6 Girls Compete in Kalamazoo
The Branch
Gymnastics Level 5 and 6 teams didn’t have to travel far to find
success this past competing in the State Qualifier hosted by Greater
Kalamazoo World of Gymnastics.
The Level 5
team put up some very strong scores on their way to a 2nd
place finish as a team. Teagan Young was strong on Vault and beam
with an 8.975 on both events while teammate Melissa Knapick was also
solid on Beam with a 9.0. Bars proved to be a great event for the
team with a number of girls posting good scores. Shelby Woodmansee
turned in a 9.225, Morgan VanWinkle scored a 9.3, Laurel Wright came
home with an 8.975, and Erika DePierre scored a 9.075. Kimberly
Barber and Callie McFellin scored well on Vault with an 8.9 and
9.025 respectively.
Hayley
Hammerberg and Arielle Devenport had solid performances in the Level
6 competition. Hayley Vaulted her way to an 8.975 and was steady on
Beam with an 8.75. Arielle tumbled her way to an 8.35 on Floor and
turned in a solid 8.5 on Beam.
